National Resources Wales (NRW) has published the new 2023 General Licences for bird control.

The 2023 licences remain unchanged from those published in July 2022 following the outcome of NRW's Wild Bird Review.  

Key documents relating to the review of General Licences are still available on Wild Bird Review consultation page (you’ll need to scroll down to the bottom of the page to view the documents) and will continue to be so till the end of the year: 

• In English: Consultation on NRW’s approach to regulating the shooting and trapping of wild birds in Wales - Natural Resources Wales Citizen Space - Citizen Space (cyfoethnaturiol.cymru)  
• In Welsh: Ymgynghoriad ar ymagwedd CNC i reoleiddio saethu a dal adar gwyllt yng Nghymru - Natural Resources Wales Citizen Space - Citizen Space (cyfoethnaturiol.cymru). 

The licences are issued in HTML format but the option is available to print as hardcopies or to a PDF format which can be downloaded and saved onto a device.

Please note however that the licences include a number of web links which may not work properly from PDF versions.
